ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for manage/overseeing the operations of store, achieving sales targets and profitability, minimizing operating expenses, implementing sales strategies, customer-centric services and make improvements or changes if needed then provide a report to the upper management;
- Preparing, and reporting on budgets and expenditure to Area Manager and Head of Retail;
- Recruiting, training/guiding, and supporting Area Manager and Head of Retail as well as conducting regular performance appraisals for lower-management staff’s;
- Elevate store operations team by providing guidance and regular coaching, and motivate the retail staff to ensure continuous development, optimum level of work performance and high morale;
- Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities to maintain the competitiveness of the retail sales activities and provide reports to Area Manager and Head of Retail on market movement and penetration;
- Ensure that the store is following the safety, health, and business laws and regulations;
- Scheduling and planning for sufficient manpower for daily operation;
- Uphold company standards of excellence and service, guaranteeing the quality performance of the store by addressing customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly and reporting the issues to Area Manager and Head of Retail, and/or related department;
- Cooperate with Area Manager and Head of Retail and Marketing team for the planning of any events, campaigns, advertising plans, and/or any business marketing related to the store in-charge;
- Monitor inventory levels, restock merchandise as needed, and coordinate with the purchasing department for inventory management;
- Ensure good housekeeping, cleanliness, tidiness and maintain a high standard of product presentation and effective display of merchandise in the store.
- Any other projects as assigned. Any other job roles and responsibilities assigned to you during employment.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Candidate must possess at least Diploma / Degree in any discipline and/or equivalent education with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in Assistant Retail Manager role and/or five (5) years and above of overall combined retail experience. The set of skills and other requirement needed to succeed in these key practice areas include, but not limited to:
- Strong working knowledge in book retail industry will be an added advantage.
- Ability to meet sales targets and production goals
- Ability to motivate others on a team and help them succeed
- Multitasking skills and the ability to tend to multiple problems at a time
- Problem-solving skills, especially in situations of high stress
- Strong knowledge of company policy, goals, setting SOP’s and KPI’s for store.
- Ability to generate a variety of reports and presentations displaying store performance
- Excellent organizational skills
- Results-driven and customer-centric services
- Candidates with experience in new store openings will have an added advantage.
