Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to ensure the stability, security, and high availability of our database systems. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining databases, enforcing database policies and standards, and working closely with application development teams to optimize data models. A key focus is performance monitoring and tuning, troubleshooting database issues, and managing backup and recovery strategies to support mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, and optimize database environments for security, reliability, and high availability
• Define, document, and enforce database policies, standards, and best practices
• Collaborate with development teams to refine logical and physical data models
• Monitor, tune, and maintain database performance; identify and resolve bottlenecks
• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors and system issues
• Design, implement, test, and maintain backup and recovery strategies

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
Language: Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin; Cantonese is a plus
Experience: 6 years of relevant working experience in database management

Technical Stack:

• Extensive experience with: MS SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MariaDB/MySQL
• Strong command of SQL and DBA tools
• Strong understanding of database modeling
• Experience working with Linux and Windows environments
• Familiarity with scripting tools (e.g., Unix scripts, Windows PowerShell)
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, .Net, Node.js

• Good verbal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently

Job Type: Contract

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM11,000.00 per month
