Job Summary
The Drafter is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings and documentation in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, and company standards. The role supports engineers and designers by converting design concepts, calculations, and sketches into detailed construction-ready drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise 2D and/or 3D drawings using CAD/BIM software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D).
- Produce layouts, plans, sections, details, and schedules in accordance with project specifications and standards.
- Incorporate engineer’s mark-ups, comments and design changes accurately and promptly.
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Coordinate drawing interfaces with other disciplines to avoid clashes and inconsistencies.
- Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, and document control procedures.
- Assist in preparing shop drawings, as-built drawings, and tender or construction documentation.
- Perform basic quantity take-offs where required.
- Ensure all deliverables meet quality, accuracy, and deadline requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 1–5 years of drafting experience (depending on seniority).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory); Revit/BIM experience is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and construction practices.
- Familiarity with local and international codes and standards (e.g. BS, IEC, ASHRAE, etc.) is an advantage.
- Good attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
