Job Summary
We are looking for a responsible and customer-oriented Application Support Engineer to support and maintain F&B POS systems for our clients. The role involves handling software and hardware support, troubleshooting system issues, providing user training, and ensuring smooth daily operations for restaurant and retail clients.
The ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of POS systems, hardware troubleshooting, networking, and customer support skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for F&B POS systems, including software and hardware troubleshooting.
- Support clients remotely and onsite for system issues and operational inquiries.
- Install, configure, and maintain POS systems, printers, scanners, tablets, and related hardware.
- Troubleshoot issues related to POS software, payment terminals, kitchen printers, receipt printers, and integrations.
- Assist clients with menu setup, user settings, reports, and system configurations.
- Coordinate with internal technical teams and vendors to resolve escalated issues.
- Monitor and follow up on support tickets to ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct system testing and support during new outlet setup or system implementation.
- Provide basic training to clients on POS system usage and best practices.
- Maintain proper documentation of issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
- Support system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction through professional communication and support.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in application support, POS support, or IT support environment.
- Basic knowledge of POS systems, especially in F&B operations.
- Familiar with POS hardware such as receipt printers, kitchen printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers, tablets, and networking devices.
- Basic understanding of Windows systems, networking, and remote support tools.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and under pressure.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Willing to travel for onsite support when required.
- Possess own transport is an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting F&B or retail POS systems.
- Experience with payment gateway or food delivery platform integration is a plus.
- Familiar with remote desktop tools and ticketing systems.
Working Hours
- Able to support after office hours, weekends, or public holidays when necessary.
