Job Description

Responsibilities

The Role

We are looking to hire a Pricing Manager within Asia Protection Pricing team at Pacific Life Re, a major global player in Life Reinsurance. The candidate will join as a senior member of the team and take on the ownership to manage a small team and pricing activities.

As an influential and innovative protection expert, your expertise in pricing, product development and experience analysis will be crucial as you work alongside Underwriting and Client Solutions teams to deliver creative solutions to meet the needs of our clients across the region.

Duties
1. Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of pricing terms and product development solutions to clients ensuring high technical standards of analysis and the production of high-quality pricing to clients and internal stakeholders.

Key tasks include:

  • Manage detailed assessment of opportunities from pricing and risk perspective, with consideration on business strategy.
  • Manage projects/quotes with minimal support.
  • Peer Review team members’ work

2. Responsible for assigned on-going treaty reviews, pricing methodology and model reviews.

3. Support Client Solutions team in building and maintaining effective relationship with clients and promoting the business’ brand.

4. Provide leadership and mentoring within pricing team, ensuring appropriate development for direct reports.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Qualified Actuary
  • At least 8 years of working experience in Life(Re)insurance role with strong understanding of actuarial principles and processes.
  • Prior experience in relevant markets and team management.
  • Good technical and analytical skills and a demonstrable abilityt o plan, prioritise workloads and deliver tasks on time.
  • Sound understanding of underwriting and claim practices and the interaction with pricing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring appropriate stakeholder management during the end-to-end quote process.
  • Awareness of systems such as SAS, SQL, Emblem is an advantage.
