Highly reliable and secure, its light-weight, shoe-box sized CENTAURI device leverages its proprietary laser technology to create a wireless distribution network and can be quickly, easily and cost-effectively installed on any standard telecom pole or tower at a faster time-to-market than standard fiber-optic cable.

Over the longer-term, Transcelestial aims to develop a constellation of small satellites positioned in Low Earth Orbit, allowing their laser network to not only beam across cities but upwards to connect continents across the world too.

You will be embedded in daily activities of the R&D team, enhance your technical problem solving skills, get exposed to new tools, methods, and programming languages. You will gain practical experience ranging from prototyping to testing and implementation.

Mechanical Design Intern

As Mechanical Design Intern, you will:

• Develop cutting-edge ground and space based optical systems.
• Design and development from concept stage to mass production.
• Work in collaboration with mechanical engineers, control engineers, product designers and the manufacturing team to design best-in-class, groundbreaking optical communication systems.

What you will bring:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical disciplines with minimum 1 year related work experience in mechanical CAD field.

It is a bonus if you:

• Understand STOP Analysis of precision optics systems and manufacturing processes including design optimized costing.
• Have Basic CAD knowledge and Optical simulation tools such as Zemax, CODE V.
• Possess sound knowledge of Athermal Optics.
• Have worked with Precision optomechanical tolerancing and performance analyses for scalable manufacturing.
• Have solid knowledge of geometrical and physical optics, radiometry and lens systems design.
• Have prior experience with assembly and measurement techniques for precision optical systems.
