ROLESUMMARY

The Platform Operations Engineer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise platforms and environments to ensure stability, performance, and scalability. The role focuses on platform reliability, automation, and continuous improvement across cloud and on-premises systems in mission-critical and regulated environments.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and support platform environments across development, testing, and production.

• Monitor platform health, performance, and availability; ensure proactive issue resolution.

• Provide L2/L3 support for platform-related incidents, service requests, and escalations.

• Perform deployment support, environment configuration, and release validation.

• Automate platform operations, provisioning, and maintenance tasks.

• Ensure high availability(HA), backup, and disaster recovery (DR) readiness.

• Troubleshoot system, application, and integration issues across the platform stack.

• Manage configurations, patches, and upgrades of platform components.

• Support CI/CD pipelines and ensure smooth deployment processes.

• Maintain platform documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.

• Collaborate with DevOps, infrastructure, and application teams for continuous improvement.

• Ensure adherence to SLAs, operational standards, and governance processes.

TECHNICALSKILLS & TOOLS

• Platforms: Linux/Unix, Windows, middleware, application servers (WebLogic, Tomcat, JBoss)

• Cloud: AWS, Azure, GoogleCloud (platform services)

• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes

• DevOps & Automation: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible

• Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack

• Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell

• Databases (Basic): SQL, database connectivity and troubleshooting

SECURITY& COMPLIANCE

• Implement platform-level security controls and access management.

• Ensure patching, hardening, and compliance with ISO 27001 and security policies.

• Monitor logs and support incident response activities.

• Support audits and governance requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS& EXPERIENCE

• Degree/Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or related field.

• 3–7 years of experience in platform operations or system engineering.

• Experience in cloud or hybrid environments preferred.

• Strong troubleshooting, automation, and collaboration skills.

PREFERRED(GOOD TO HAVE)

• Experience with SRE practices and platform reliability engineering.

• Certifications in cloud(AWS/Azure/GCP) or Kubernetes.

• Exposure to microservices and cloud-native architectures.
