About The Role

This is a high-impact role that combines Technical Engineering with Cost Estimation. You will be responsible for analyzing customer blueprints to determine the most efficient manufacturing process and providing accurate price quotations that drive our business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• RFQ & Technical Analysis: Lead the review of Request for Quotations (RFQs). Analyze 2D drawings and 3D CAD models to evaluate manufacturing feasibility and material requirements.

• Cost Estimation & Pricing: Develop detailed cost breakdowns, including raw material (Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Alloys), machining time, specialized tooling, and labor.

• Process Routing: Design the “path” a product takes through our factory—from laser cutting and bending to CNC milling and final surface treatment (plating/painting).

• Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Provide value-engineering feedback to clients to simplify production, reduce costs, and improve part integrity.

• Sub-contractor Management: Source and negotiate pricing from external vendors for processes not handled in-house (e.g., heat treatment or specialized coatings).

• Project Oversight: Ensure that the “as-quoted” process is successfully transitioned to the production floor, troubleshooting any mechanical or logic gaps during the first-article build.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Expertise in SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

  • Strong command of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for complex costing models.

• Experience: 3+ years in a precision engineering environment (Sheet Metal or CNC Machining).

• Commercial Acumen: Ability to balance technical perfection with cost-efficiency and project deadlines.
