Job Description

Responsibilities

We are supporting a leading quantitative trading firm in their search for a Python Quant Developer to join a highly collaborative research and trading environment. This is an opportunity to work closely with quantitative researchers and traders, building tools and infrastructure that directly impact live trading performance across global markets.

Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with quantitative researchers and traders to rapidly iterate on research workflows and enhance the performance of systematic trading strategies.
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Python tools and research infrastructure used across the trading lifecycle.
  • Improve and optimise simulation and backtesting frameworks to support scalable quantitative research and strategy validation.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain quantitative research and data-processing jobs to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with global research and trading teams, supporting APAC-focused initiatives across multiple asset classes and markets.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of research productivity, data quality, and development standards within a fast-paced trading environment.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative discipline; advanced degrees are advantageous.
  • Strong Python development experience, with excellent knowledge of data and statistical libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and Polars.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience developing software or research tooling within a quantitative, trading, or data-intensive environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative and fast-moving setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with researchers, traders, and engineering teams across global locations.
  • Comfortable working in an environment that values ownership, curiosity, and rapid iteration.

Desirable Skills
  • Experience with C++ development in performance-sensitive environments.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and scripting languages such as Bash.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration, task scheduling, or distributed research infrastructure.
  • Understanding of Equities and Equity Derivatives markets and trading workflows.
  • Exposure to quantitative research, systematic trading, or financial market data environments is beneficial.
