Job Description

The Quantity Surveyor (Tender) supports the tendering team in preparing cost estimates, performing quantity take-offs, and assisting in the evaluation of subcontractor and supplier quotations. The role provides exposure to the full tendering cycle, requiring close attention to detail, accuracy in measurement, and coordination with internal teams. This position is ideal for candidates looking to grow their technical and commercial knowledge in quantity surveying within the tendering function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret tender documents, including drawings, specifications, and conditions of contract.
  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs for structural and architectural works.
  • Prepare measurement sheets, cost breakdowns, and pricing schedules.
  • Source, invite, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for compliance with specifications and drawings.
  • Compile and prepare trade cost comparison sheets for review by senior staff.
  • Identify and highlight discrepancies in drawings and specifications, raising clarification queries when required.
  • Provide cost inputs and supporting data in line with tender submission requirements.
  • Assist in compiling tender submissions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Maintain updated cost databases, quotation records, and supplier/subcontractor information.
  • Support post-tender clarifications and provide documentation for project handover when tenders are awarded.
  • Work closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors/Assistant Manager to ensure alignment with company standards.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience (fresh graduates are welcome; internship/industrial attachment experience is advantageous).
  • Strong technical knowledge in structural and architectural works.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiar with measurement software (e.g., AutoCAD, CostX, Glodon, etc).
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, and accurate in measurement and costing.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage timelines with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive and resourceful, with a problem-solving mindset.

Pay: $3,000.00 - $4,500.00 per month
