We’re Hiring: Electrical & Control System Engineer (HV/Substation)

We’re looking for an Electrical & Control System Engineer (HV/Substation) to join our dynamic team!

For a fresh graduate, the job scope focuses on technical foundation building and on-the-job training. You will primarily support senior engineers in executing HV substation projects while learning the specific standards of clients like TNB.

1. Core Responsibilities

• Drafting & Design Support: Prepare and update detailed engineering drawings, system layouts, and technical documentation using CAD software.
• Engineering Site Surveys: Conduct site visits to plan equipment locations and determine interconnection points to existing electrical systems.
• Control & Protection Assistance: Help with the setup and testing of protection and control systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Project Documentation: Assist in maintaining project records, preparing estimates, and checking vendor drawings for accuracy.

2. Technical Learning & Execution

• Simulation & Analysis: Use technical software for load calculations, fault studies, and coordination analysis under supervision.
• Equipment Testing: Support pre-induction testing and development of systems test procedures for items like switchgear and protective relays.
• Standard Compliance: Learn to ensure that all construction and design works comply with TNB standards and engineering approvals.

3. Site & Field Work

• Site Inspections: Assist in conducting site audits and field reviews to verify that installations match design specifications.
• Commissioning Support: Provide basic support during the installation and commissioning phases of HV grid interconnections.

4. Required Skills for Beginners

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Software Knowledge: Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
