Authority: Review and verify Software Engineer’s software development work

Main Role: As a Software Engineer I, you are expected to execute and complete various software projects in the company. At this level, we are expecting you to have self-confident, good problem-solving skill, resourceful and report the software development status to your superior on timely basis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• To develop engineering software systems by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying system flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
• To develop test plan, perform testing and debugging for software systems.
• To maintain and perform software update for current systems deployed at site.
• To study/analyse performance data for systems deployed at site and prepare reports accordingly.
• To document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. Liaise with customers, vendors and principal regarding various technical and commercial issues.
• To provide software solution to project team on various customised functions required on the SCADA software.
• To assist in in-house testing (Factory Acceptance Test), site installation, testing & commissioning (SAT) whenever necessary.
• To provide guidance and help to juniors.
• Timely input and update the e-portal daily timesheet.
• Quality awareness and compliance to company QMS requirement.
• Awareness and compliance to company and customer HSE requirement.
• Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Education & Experience:

• Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in similar environment.

Skill & Knowledge:

• Self-confidence and ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
• Ability to work under extreme pressure and a willingness to work unsociable hours when required.
• Proficient knowledge and experience in software engineering, database and networking terminology.
• Required skill(s): Visual Studio.NET, .NET Framework, C++, HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, ASP.NET, SQL, Web Interface Design, Client & Server (LAN) programming, Flash programming.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for documentations (user manual, help file, etc).
• Expected to travel around Malaysia and oversea to support project team.
