Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR LOGISTIC ASSISTANT

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As the Logistic Assistant, you are responsible for planning and coordinating daily logistics activities including material and product deliveries, collection from subcontractors, and internal stock movements. You will manage lorry drivers, track delivery schedules, and ensure proper documentation and packaging are in place before any outbound movement. This role is essential in supporting customer commitments, production continuity, and logistics traceability.

Delivery Planning & Execution

  • Plan and coordinate daily delivery schedules for customer shipments, subcontractor collections, and internal transfers.
  • Monitor lorry assignments, route planning, fuel usage, and load efficiency.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods based on customer PO, DO, or packing list.
  • Coordinate closely with QA, store, and production teams on delivery readiness.

Driver Supervision & Route Management

  • Supervise and assign duties to in-house lorry drivers.
  • Ensure drivers comply with company policies, safety rules, and road regulations.
  • Monitor driver attendance, punctuality, and performance.
  • Support GPS or manual tracking of delivery status and movement logs.

Logistics Documentation & Control

  • Verify and ensure completeness of delivery documents including Delivery Orders, Consignment Notes, and Customs Forms.
  • Record delivery and collection schedules, vehicle movement logs, and delivery completion reports.
  • Maintain traceability records for finished goods shipped and parts returned from subcons.

Packaging & Loading Oversight

  • Ensure goods are packed, labeled, and protected according to customer and internal specifications before loading.
  • Supervise safe loading and unloading practices to prevent damage.
  • Coordinate with store staff for stock issuance and material readiness.

Logistics Coordination & Reporting

  • Liaise with subcontractors, customers, and transport service providers where needed.
  • Track delivery performance and highlight delays or delivery issues to management.
  • Assist in preparing weekly logistics performance reports and improvement proposals.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • SPM or Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in logistics, warehousing, or delivery coordination.
  • Familiar with manufacturing environment logistics and documentation flow.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Able to lead a team of drivers and coordinate multiple deliveries.
  • Good communication skills and basic computer literacy (Excel, DO tracking).
  • Understanding of safety practices in transportation and handling.

Scope of Authority:

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
