Functional Solution Analyst – Cards IT
Job Purpose
The Functional Solution Analyst acts as a bridge between business teams and technology teams. The role involves understanding business needs, preparing functional requirements, supporting solution development, and ensuring smooth system operations and deployment.
Key Responsibilities1. Business Requirement Analysis
- Work with business teams to gather and understand requirements.
- Analyze business processes and document functional requirements.
- Suggest practical and cost-effective solutions that meet business and regulatory needs.
2. Solution Support & Coordination
- Work closely with developers, testers, and DevOps teams during development and testing phases.
- Ensure the final solution meets business expectations.
- Support deployment and rollout activities.
3. Quality Assurance & Reporting
- Support QA and testing activities.
- Track project progress and provide updates to stakeholders and IT management.
- Ensure deployment readiness across environments.
4. Functional Support & Issue Management
- Act as the first point of contact for user-reported functional issues.
- Review, validate, and document issues.
- Perform initial root cause analysis and coordinate with technical teams for resolution.
5. Process Improvement
- Monitor recurring issues and recommend system or process improvements.
- Help improve operational efficiency and reduce repeated problems.
6. Legacy System Retirement Support
- Assess business impact when retiring old applications.
- Document transition plans, replacement systems, and data archival strategies.
- Coordinate with business, technical, compliance, and security teams during system decommissioning.
7. Stakeholder Coordination
- Work with architects, developers, business owners, compliance teams, and CISOs.
- Support training, business continuity planning, and communication activities.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services such as:
- Payments
- Loans
- Credit Cards
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks independently.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of:
- JSON
- REST APIs
- Web Services
- SQL and relational databases
- Experience using documentation tools such as:
- Visio
- Confluence
- SharePoint
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Agile or hybrid project environments.
- Exposure to testing support and change management.
- Basic understanding of core banking systems or digital banking platforms.
