Position Summary:

The Material Handler supports production by ensuring the accurate and timely flow of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. This role is responsible for safe material handling, inventory accuracy, and proper documentation of all material movements. The Material Handler follows 5S standards to maintain an organized work area and strictly applies FIFO to ensure proper stock rotation. Additionally, the role supports quality checks, assists with resolving material issues, and operates material-handling equipment to keep production running smoothly and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient handling of materials from rawstocks to finished goods. Their key responsibilities include:

1. Inventory Monitoring & Control

· Tracks stock levels of direct materials, indirect materials, and WIP.

· Validates material transactions and resolves discrepancies by coordinating with Production Supervisors.

· Monitors unplanned consumption (damage, collapsed raw stocks, destructive inspections) and ensures correct system posting.

2. Material Movement & Handling

· Collects raw material withdrawals and scrap from production.

· Safely loads, unloads, stores, and transfers inbound and outbound materials.

· Pulls, prepares, and issues materials accurately for production or shipment.

3. Accuracy, Documentation & Reporting

· Maintains accurate and timely inventory records.

· Supports material planners, QA, and warehouse with inventory-related inquiries.

· Performs cycle counts and assists with physical inventories to ensure stock accuracy and traceability.

4. Quality and Inspection Support

· Assists Final Inspection to resolve material errors and ensure finished goods can be released.

· Ensures all incoming and outgoing materials are correct, damage-free, and meet quality standards.

5. Equipment Operation & Work Area Maintenance

· Operates forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.

· Uses RF scanners for receiving, put-away, picking, and transfers.

· Conducts basic equipment checks and keeps the area organized and hazard-free.

6. Safety, 5S, and Compliance

· Follows all safety, sanitation, and security guidelines, including OSHA/SDS standards.

· Practices and maintains 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient workplace.

· Maintains proper labeling, orderliness, and cleanliness in storage and production areas.

7. FIFO and Stock Rotation

· Ensures FIFO (First-In, First-Out) is strictly followed in all material storage, issuance, and transfers.

· Rotates stocks regularly to prevent expiration, obsolescence, and discrepancies.

· Monitors material shelf life and reports items approaching expiry.

8. Collaboration & General Support

· Participates in teams, committees, and improvement projects to enhance processes and system performance.

· Supports maintenance activities for facility, grounds, and equipment when needed.

· Performs other related tasks to support production and warehouse operations.

Skills and Knowledge:

· Material handling & inventory control (stock monitoring, FIFO, cycle counting).

· Equipment operation (forklift, pallet jack, RF scanner).

· Basic computer and ERP/WMS skills for transactions and reporting.

· Quality awareness in checking materials for accuracy and damage.

· 5S knowledge to maintain a clean and organized work area.

· Safety knowledge including proper lifting and warehouse safety rules.

· Attention to detail, strong communication, and good time management.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

· Frequently lifts, carries, and moves materials or products weighing up to 25–30 kilograms, with occasional requirements for heavier items

· Spends extended periods standing and walking within the warehouse area

· Regularly bends, kneels, reaches, and may climb ladders or equipment

· Uses hands and arms to operate handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, barcode scanners)

· Maintains good balance and coordination while moving items, operating machinery, and working in confined or elevated spaces

· Works in a warehouse environment that may have limited climate control, with possible exposure to heat, humidity, dust, or other particles

· May work rotating or night shifts, including occasional overtime during peak periods.

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,300.00 per month
