Responsibilities
A leading prop trading firm is seeking an Application Support Engineer to join its Front Office Trade Support team in Hong Kong.
This role supports mission-critical, proprietary trading systems across the APAC region in a fast-paced trading environment.
You’ll act as the link between traders, developers, and infrastructure teams, owning production issues end-to-end and helping improve system reliability, monitoring, and operational tooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and monitor front-office trading applications and infrastructure
- Perform and automate daily system health checks
- Real-time monitoring and incident response in production
- Investigate alerts, logs, and telemetry from trading systems
- Work closely with traders, developers, infra, and external venues
- Maintain technical and user documentation
- Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements
Technology Environment
- Predominantly Linux, with some Windows
- In-house, bespoke trading applications
- Scripting: Python and Bash
- Market data, OMS, FIX, trading workflows
- Exposure to multicast networking and messaging systems
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years’ experience in application support / production support within financial markets
- Exposure to trading systems, market data, OMS or FIX
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and attention to detail
- Comfortable working under pressure in a trading environment
- Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting trading desks
- Market data knowledge
- Networking fundamentals
