Job Description

Responsibilities

Work Location: Ang Mo Kio

Job Purpose

The psychologist is expected to provide a full range of evidence-based and best practices in psychological services to students including conduct psychological assessments, deliver interventions and manage crisis situations. You are also function as a member of the allied professional team to collaborate with stakeholders, maintain professional and ethical standards, undertake research and continuous improvement and uplift professional practice of psychology in education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological assessments and work with clients and families to address learning, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to identify learning barriers and implement effective interventions and support strategies.
  • Provide counselling, mentoring, and therapeutic interventions to support students’/trainees’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Design and implement programmes to promote resilience, wellness, and prevent potential academic or behavioural risks.
  • Conduct workshops and training for parents and staff to enhance understanding and management of learning and behavioural needs.
  • Maintain professional standards with relevant qualifications, registration, and experience, particularly in working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Job Requirements

  • Possess a Masters in Applied Psychology/ Clinical Psychology from an accredited university and be registered/eligible for registration with SRP or an equivalent professional body.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of work related experience with relevant exposure in the area of intellectual disability or other related disabilities.
  • Expertise and familiarity in conducting and interpreting psychological assessment
  • Proficient in a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions
  • Skilled in crisis intervention and management
  • Ability to provide training to stakeholders
  • Dedicated to ongoing professional development through clinical supervision
  • Provide leadership in assigned initiatives
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other allied professionals in the department and with teachers and caregivers
  • Candidate with Masters in Applied Psychology/ Clinical Psychology without the required minimum years of work related experience will be considered for the position of Psychologist
