Job Responsibilities

The E&I Engineer is responsible for providing expert technical support, troubleshooting, and continuous maintenance management for all electrical, instrumentation, and control systems across the entire plastic compounding plant. This role focuses on maximizing equipment uptime, managing daily and annual turnaround maintenance, and implementing robust preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure safe, efficient, and smooth 24/7 manufacturing operations.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities)

1. Plant Operations & Troubleshooting

  • Technical Support: Provide high-level troubleshooting, diagnostics, and technical support for all plant E&I assets to ensure continuous manufacturing operations.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Apply formal RCA methodologies to complex equipment failures, tracking down the source of issues and implementing permanent corrective actions.
  • Compounding Equipment Expertise: Manage, troubleshoot, and repair E&I systems tied directly to plastic compounding machinery, including twin-screw extruders, gravimetric dosing/feeding systems, pelletizers, and pneumatic conveying lines.
  • Process Control & Automation: Monitor, configure, and maintain the plant's process control systems, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and SCADA networks.

2. Maintenance Coordination & Reliability

  • Maintenance Planning: Control and coordinate daily, monthly, and annual maintenance turnarounds for all electrical and instrumentation systems across the plant.
  • Reliability Improvement: Establish, execute, and improve predictive and preventive maintenance (PPM) programs to increase plant reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Calibration Management: Oversee the calibration schedules and execution for all process instruments, including temperature controllers, melt pressure transducers, weight sensors, and humidity probes.
  • Utilities & Facilities: Ensure the reliable operation and electrical maintenance of critical utility equipment supporting the compounding process, such as water chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and dust collection/exhaust systems.

3. Inventory & Team Collaboration

  • Spare Parts Management: Maintain and monitor inventory levels for critical E&I materials, specialized spare parts, and calibration equipment with high responsibility and integrity.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Production Supervisors and external vendors to execute equipment upgrades, capacity expansions, or optimization projects.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, or Instrument & Control Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of relevant E&I engineering experience in a manufacturing plant environment (Direct experience in plastic compounding, polymer processing, chemical, or petrochemical industries is highly advantageous).

Technical Skills:

  • Strong familiarity with PLCs, DCS, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and industrial automation networks.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and instrument loop drawings.

Soft Skills: Effective communication and presentation skills, resourceful, earnest, a strong team player, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $3,000.00 - $3,500.00 per month
