We are looking for an Associate Accountant to join our Singapore office. This is a strong opportunity for an early-career finance professional who is keen to build a strong grounding in accounting within a private investment environment. The position offers broad exposure across day-to-day finance operations, reporting support, and entity-level administration.
The Role
The Associate Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the Singapore office and related entities. You will work closely with senior finance leadership and external advisers to maintain accurate records, support reporting processes, ensure routine finance matters are handled carefully and on time.
This is a hands-on role with scope to learn quickly in a lean, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records for the family office and related entities.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoices, staff claims, and payment runs.
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances across accounts.
- Prepare journal entries, schedules, and supporting documentation for monthly and year-end close.
- Assist with the preparation of management reports, cash flow summaries, and financial packs.
- Support bookkeeping for investment holding entities and other private structures as required.
- Track intercompany balances, expenses, and allocations across entities.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, tax advisers, banks, and corporate secretarial providers.
- Support statutory, tax, and regulatory filing processes in Singapore, including coordination of required documentation.
- Maintain orderly filing systems for invoices, contracts, financial records, and supporting documents.
- Help improve finance processes, controls, and reporting accuracy over time.
- Handle sensitive financial and personal information with a high degree of confidentiality and care.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience; strong internship experience may also be considered.
- Good understanding of core accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or similar systems.
- Strong Excel skills, including reconciliations, schedules, and basic formulas.
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach to record-keeping.
- Strong sense of discretion, reliability, and ownership.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Based in Singapore or eligible to work in Singapore.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in a family office, investment firm, private equity environment, or small corporate finance team.
- Exposure to multi-entity accounting, investment-related transactions, or multi-currency bookkeeping.
- Familiarity with Singapore compliance requirements, including GST, corporate filings, and audit support.
- Progress toward or interest in a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or ISCA.
