We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Functional Tester to join our Application Development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating application functionality, ensuring software quality, and supporting successful project delivery through effective testing activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and functional requirements to prepare comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing for enterprise applications.
• Validate backend processing, database transactions, and application workflows.
• Execute test cases, identify defects, and track issues through resolution.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Prepare and maintain test documentation, test reports, and defect logs.
• Participate in test planning, test estimation, and test execution activities.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production verification activities.
• Ensure software quality and compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Work independently with minimum supervision and manage testing tasks under pressure.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in software testing or quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC processes.
• Experience in:
• Functional testing
• Integration testing
• Regression testing
• System testing
• Experience in preparing:
• Test plans
• Test scenarios
• Test cases
• Test reports
• Good knowledge of SQL and database validation, preferably Oracle databases.
• Good understanding of backend application workflows and data processing.
• Experience using defect tracking and test management tools.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good English communication skills and strong teamwork mindset.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Preferred / Value-Added Skills

• Experience testing Java-based enterprise applications.
• Experience with API/Web Services testing (SOAP & REST).
• Experience with automation testing tools is an advantage.
• Experience using software quality tools such as SonarQube or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and shell commands is an advantage.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder communication skills.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
