Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Customer Quality Engineer to manage customer quality issues, drive corrective actions, and ensure product quality meets customer requirements and industry standards. The ideal candidate will act as the key liaison between customers and internal teams to resolve quality concerns, improve processes, and enhance customer satisfaction within the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Complaint Management

• Handle customer complaints, non-conformance issues, and quality-related feedback in a timely manner.
• Coordinate containment actions to minimize customer impact and production disruption.
• Prepare and submit customer complaint reports including 8D reports, corrective actions, and follow-up status.
• Monitor effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.

2. Quality Investigation & Problem Solving

• Lead root cause analysis activities using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, and PDCA.
• Work closely with Production, Process Engineering, QA/QC, and Maintenance teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce customer rejection, internal defects, and quality cost.

3. Customer Quality Support

• Act as the main point of contact for customer quality matters and technical quality discussions.
• Coordinate customer visits, audits, and quality meetings.
• Respond professionally to customer quality concerns and ensure timely closure of issues.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication and quality support.

4. Quality System & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
• Maintain and update quality records, reports, inspection standards, work instructions, and quality procedures.
• Support internal quality audits, customer audits, and certification audits.
• Ensure all quality documentation is properly controlled and maintained.

5. New Product & Process Quality Support

• Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) and new project development activities.
• Support APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC implementation.
• Review customer specifications, drawings, and quality requirements before production release.
• Ensure product and process quality requirements are met during project transfer and mass production.

6. Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor customer PPM, rejection trends, complaint trends, and quality KPIs.
• Prepare weekly/monthly customer quality performance reports for management review.
• Analyze quality data and recommend improvement actions based on findings.
• Track and report status of quality improvement activities and corrective actions.

7. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate with Production, Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Engineering departments to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Support supplier quality issue investigation when related to customer complaints.
• Provide quality awareness and problem-solving guidance to internal teams.

8. Continuous Improvement

• Lead or participate in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement activities.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and defect reduction.
• Support implementation of preventive quality measures to improve overall manufacturing performance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years working experience in manufacturing/customer quality environment.
• Knowledge in ISO 9001, IATF 16949, 8D Report, CAPA, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, and SPC.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and customer handling skills.
• Able to work independently and under pressure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in metal stamping/machining/manufacturing industry is an added advantage.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,600.00 per month
