Requirements

 Role requirements, 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, or a related field (CGPA 3.0 and above / Second Class Upper). 
  • Completed ACCA (or currently pursuing final stages) is highly preferred and considered an added advantage. 
  • Proven experience in finance, controlling, or FP&A, with exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. 
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, variance analysis, and cost control methodologies
  • Familiarity with SAP systems and data visualization/dashboard tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel advanced functions). 
  • Good understanding of statutory compliance, taxation, and regulatory requirements in Malaysia. 
  • Experience liaising with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulatory authorities is an advantage.

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented IT Controller (Contract) to join our Global IT Controlling team based in Malaysia. This role plays a critical part in strengthening financial transparency, driving data-driven insights, and ensuring robust statutory and internal control compliance.

The position has a strong emphasis on in-depth financial analysis, process improvement, and governance, with approximately 20% of the role dedicated to statutory and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to enhance controlling quality, optimize processes, and support informed decision-making across Global IT.

What You'll do

In this role, you will,

  1. Financial Controlling & Advanced Analytics (Core Focus)
  • Own and execute end-to-end IT controlling activities including rolling forecasts, budgeting, invoice controls, cost recognition, cross-charging, and month-end closing.
  • Perform deep-dive financial and variance analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Develop management reporting, dashboards, and analytical models. Liaise with SSC, bankers, tax agent, auditors, company secretary, and other external stakeholders (Gov. agents, MDEC, Customs Department, State Government, etc) on matters pertaining to finance and statutory compliance.

2. Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Lead continous improvement initiatives across IT controlling and finance.
  • Identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and automation opportunities.
  • Standardise and document controlling processes in line with internal controls.

3. Statutory, Compliance, & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements, and the Internal Control System (ICS)
  • Liase with auditors, tax agents, company secretary, bankers, and authorities.
