Job Purpose
The Kitchen Helper supports daily kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, assisting cooks with food preparation, and ensuring a hygienic, organized, and efficient working environment. This role is essential in helping the kitchen team deliver high-quality vegetarian meals according to Sangeetha’s standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation Assistance
- Assist the cook or kitchen team with basic food preparation such as cutting vegetables, washing ingredients, and portioning items.
- Ensure all ingredients are cleaned, labeled, and stored properly.
- Support the preparation of sauces, batters, and other ingredients as directed.
- Kitchen Maintenance & Cleanliness
- Wash, clean, and sanitize kitchen utensils, cooking equipment, and work surfaces regularly.
- Ensure all kitchen areas, sinks, and floors are kept clean and dry at all times.
- Properly dispose of food waste and maintain cleanliness of waste bins.
- Follow hygiene and safety standards according to restaurant and health department regulations.
- Support Cooking & Service Operations
- Deliver prepared ingredients to cooks during busy service hours.
- Assist in plating or packing orders when required.
- Refill supplies, condiments, and kitchen stock during and after service.
- Report any equipment damage, shortage, or malfunction to the Supervisor or Cook.
- Inventory & Stock Handling
- Assist in receiving, unpacking, and storing deliveries of ingredients and supplies.
- Follow proper storage methods (FIFO – First In, First Out) to prevent spoilage.
- Help in stock counting and maintaining kitchen orderliness.
Requirements
- No formal education required; basic literacy is an advantage.
- At least 6 months of experience in kitchen or restaurant operations preferred (training will be provided).
- Good hygiene, discipline, and positive working attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hot, and team-oriented environment.
- Physically fit to perform kitchen duties, including standing for long periods.
- Willing to work on weekends, public holidays, and shift rotations.

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,000.00 per month
