Job Description

Role Purpose:
To lead the sheet metal processing team in executing daily cutting, bending, punching, and forming operations using machines like CNC laser cutters, press brakes, and turret punches. Ensures quality, output, and safety standards are met through effective task coordination and team guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Supervision & Task Assignment
• Distribute job orders and assign machine tasks to operators and helpers.
• Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to daily plans and quality targets.
• Train new operators on machine safety, setup, and process standards.
• Machine & Process Oversight
• Supervise operation of CNC laser cutting, bending, punching, and forming machines.
• Ensure correct setup, tooling, and program selection for each job.
• Coordinate jig and fixture usage to support consistent part accuracy.
• Quality Control & Compliance
• Verify first-piece inspection and monitor in-process part quality.
• Resolve dimensional or cosmetic issues and escalate major concerns to QA or Engineering.
• Ensure parts meet tolerances as per drawings and BOMs.
• Safety & 5S Leadership
• Enforce safe work procedures and mandatory PPE usage.
• Maintain machine area organization, tool storage, and cleanliness.
• Lead 5S and safety briefings within the team.
• Reporting & Coordination
• Record daily production, rework, and downtime.
• Communicate material or tooling shortages to Production Planner or Supervisor.
• Participate in daily production meetings and provide feedback for process improvement.
