We are lookingfor a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Special Education Teacher (Secondary) where you'll inspire and empowerstudents to reach their full potential.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct classroom teaching in an inclusive settingfor students in Grade 7 to Grade 12.
- Conduct small group/ individual teaching sessionsfor students with learning difficulties.
- Design and implementschool-level curriculum content that aligns with the general education programwhile adapting it to suit students with varying abilities and learningchallenges.
- Develop and implementindividualized Learning Plan (ILPs) tailored to each student's specific needs,in collaboration with other educators and specialists.
- Adapt and modify curriculummaterials and teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles andabilities.
- Deliver high-qualityinstruction that meets the educational and developmental needs of students withdisabilities.
- Regularlymonitor and evaluate students' progress, adjusting instructional strategies asneeded.
- Maintain accurate andup-to-date records of students' performance, including IEP documentation.
- Work closely with support staff, and otherspecialists to ensure a coordinated approach to education.
- Communicate effectivelywith parents and guardians regarding students' progress, challenges, andachievements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in specialeducation or a related field from an accredited university.
- A minimum of 3 years of teachingexperience in a special education setting, preferably in a school environment.
- Experience in Cambridge Curriculum / International Middle Years (IMYC) and the EQUALS Functional Curriculum.
- Familiarity with developing andimplementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including linkingassessments to IEP development.
- Strong interpersonal andcommunication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively withstudents, staff, and parents.
- Proficiency in behavior managementtechniques and the use of appropriate intervention strategies.
