Project Engineer (remote work)
6 month contract
Peak Ocean is seeking a versatile and proactive Project Engineer to join our technical team. This role offers a unique hybrid balance, requiring a strong physical presenceon-site in the shipyard to oversee critical execution phases, combined with the flexibility to manage engineering documentation and planning remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact in the shipyard. Monitor repair, conversion, or new-build progress on jack-ups and rigs to ensure work aligns with owner specifications and class requirements.
- Apply a deep understanding of rig maintenance (mechanical, electrical, and structural) to identify potential issues before they become costly delays.
- Bridge the gap between shipyard contractors and the owner’s project team. Review technical drawings, Method Statements, and Work Packs.
- Utilize digital project management tools to track KPIs, update project schedules, and prepare technical reports while working off-site.
- Ensure all shipyard activities adhere to stringent HSEQ standards and that the technical integrity of the asset is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 3 years of proven experience in offshore engineering, specifically focused on Jack-ups and Rigs.
- Prior experience working directly for an Asset Owner or Operator within a shipyard environment is highly preferred.
- Strong grasp of rig systems, including jacking systems, drilling equipment, and general marine maintenance protocols.
- Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Marine Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Ability to transition seamlessly between a high-activity shipyard environment and a focused remote work setting.
- Capable of preparing technical reports and of stake holder management.
