Position Title: Electrical & PLC Technician
Job Summary
The Electrical & PLC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and PLC-controlled equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The role includes electrical wiring, control panel maintenance, PLC programming support, and machine automation troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, control panels, and industrial machinery.
Troubleshoot electrical faults, PLC systems, sensors, relays, motors, and automation equipment.
Assist in PLC programming, modification, testing, and debugging of automation systems.
Conduct preventive maintenance for machines and electrical equipment to minimize downtime.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and PLC logic diagrams.
Carry out wiring, termination, and commissioning of electrical control systems.
Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
Support machine setup, calibration, and testing during production or project implementation.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and company procedures.
Maintain maintenance reports, troubleshooting records, and documentation.
Coordinate with production teams, and external vendors when required
Requirements
NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
Knowledge of PLC systems such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, or Allen-Bradley.
Understanding of electrical circuits, motors, sensors, inverters, and control systems.
Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with industrial safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures.
Experience in PLC programming and automation project support.
