Technical Sales Engineer (Marine Industry)


Location: Malaysia (preferred: Johor / Southern Malaysia – proximity to Singapore)

We are looking for a technically oriented Sales Engineer to support the development of our diagnostic and condition monitoring services within the maritime sector across Malaysia and the Asia region.

This role combines business development and client relationship management (approx. 70%) with hands-on technical service assignments (approx. 30%) on board ships and offshore units.

We are seeking a person who understands technical systems and feels comfortable in a marine environment — someone who can speak both the language of engineers and decision-makers.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Sales (approx. 70%)
  • Active acquisition of new clients within the maritime and offshore sector
  • Maintaining and developing long-term relationships with shipowners, fleet managers, and technical departments
  • Promoting advanced diagnostic and condition monitoring services
  • Identifying customer needs and proposing tailored technical solutions
  • Preparing commercial offers and participating in contract negotiations
  • Representing the company during meetings, conferences, and industry events
  • Market monitoring and identification of new business opportunities
Technical Service Support (approx. 30%)
  • Participation in selected onboard diagnostic measurements
  • Supporting vibration and rotating machinery diagnostics on ships
  • Assisting in technical data collection and basic reporting
  • Acting as a technical liaison between clients and internal engineering team
Requirements
  • Technical education (Mechanical / Marine / Electrical / Automation or similar)
  • Experience or exposure to the maritime industry (shipyard, shipping company, offshore, marine supplier, etc.)
  • Commercial mindset with ability to build relationships and close deals
  • Good command of English (spoken and written)
  • Willingness to travel within the region and occasionally internationally
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Self-driven, well-organized, and proactive personality
  • Driving license

Experience in diagnostics, vibration analysis, or condition monitoring is an advantage, but not mandatory — full technical training will be provided.
