Role Overview

The Application Engineer is responsible for translating customer requirements into practical engineering solutions by supporting technical proposal development, system concept design, and project engineering activities.

This role works closely with business development, project management, and engineering teams to ensure solutions are technically feasible, commercially viable, and aligned with customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Understand customer technical requirements and translate them into engineering concepts and system solutions.

• Prepare technical proposals, engineering layouts, system concepts, and solution presentations to support business development activities.

• Support the preparation of cost estimations, equipment specifications, and technical documentation for project proposals.

• Develop mechanical layouts and conceptual designs using tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks where required.

• Coordinate with internal teams including mechanical design, software engineering, and project management to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible.

• Support project implementation activities including design review, system configuration, FAT/SAT preparation, and commissioning support where necessary.

• Assist in improving proposal turnaround time and engineering response to customer technical inquiries.

• Maintain proper documentation of engineering concepts, proposals, and project technical information.

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related engineering discipline.

Experience

• Candidates with 1–3 years of experience in automation systems, machine building, manufacturing engineering, or system integration will have an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of industrial automation systems, machinery, or manufacturing processes

• Familiarity with mechanical design tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation

• Experience in technical proposal preparation or solution development is an advantage

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

• Good communication and presentation skills

• Ability to work with cross-functional engineering teams

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

• Proactive attitude with willingness to learn in a fast-paced engineering environment

Preferred Industry Exposure

Experience in any of the following industries will be an advantage:
