Responsibilities

Job Summary


  • The role is to lead, drive & provide directions to Engineering team to fulfill the Customer demand with respect to company’s goals & policies.
  • As a member of the company leadership team, is responsible for product development, new product introduction, mechanical and electrical process engineering, Information Service and industrial engineering.
  • Should create tactical plans and execute activities in accordance with the Company SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products while establishing strong customer relationship.
  • A “hands-on” leader who establishes a strong team to meet customer demands and optimizes design for manufacturability for quality and custom lines.
  • The position drives continuous improvement and meets quality targets.


Key Duties

  • Review departments’ directions and determine their strengths, weaknesses, effectiveness, and opportunities (SWOT).
  • Drive and oversee the KPI and progress of overall Engineering improvement project to ensure it is in line with organization strategies and growth.
  • Setting Key Objective & Targets – ensure set objective are executed within the set time frame.
  • Establish the gaps and close the gaps in the process, in the people & in the workplace.
  • Play key role in exhibiting the manufacturing process & its flow to customer effectively. Able to sell the capability of manufacturing effectiveness to customers.
  • Identify, suggest, recommend & propose ergonomically capable manufacturing equipment and processes to the Management, with relevant data & justification.
  • Incorporate ideas, find alternative solutions for any upturn situation independently that includes automation.
  • Able to make executive decisions when & where required and later able to support with appropriate justification (including risk management).
  • Develop, upkeep & sustain effective teamwork.
  • Ensure optimal application of technology and engineering resources to meet product development objectives, as well as manufacturing process capability requirement.
  • Advise management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, cost, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
  • Lead the Engineering team in developing continual process improvement and ensure implementation of formal processes to support product development process.
  • Collaborate with Business Development & Program Management Teams, acting as the key technical lead with customers when needed.
  • Assist Developing new products and optimize customer concept in product delivery process.
  • Cooperate with other top management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures, and goals.
  • Own New Product Development strategies and processes.
  • Review integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements.
  • Ensure that cost, quality and delivery expectations are communicated effectively to suppliers involved in development.
  • Review specifications to promote design for manufacturability.
  • Own process and system engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Tooling) and set targets and objectives for process and space optimization (cross-functional) to achieve best layout and ROI.
  • Own and lead Information System team and set direction and goals.
  • Own industrial engineering to fulfill line support and productivity goals.
  • Own all machines, furniture and operator movements in the plant.
  • Establish priorities, set schedules and monitor progress to effectively meet project completion objectives.
  • Ensure impact of product development / NPI on the business is measured and reported.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support to legacy and new products to address customer concerns, improve quality and improve gross profit margin.
  • Develop staffing and training plans to maximize effectiveness of engineering & operation resources.
  • Fully utilize best cost resources in engineering work process.
  • Forecast operating costs of department and direct preparation of budget.
  • Partner with Sales & Business Development Team to develop proposals and solutions that fulfill client’s needs and objectives.
  • Develop and sustain the MES system with respect to customer requirement
  • Automate the DHR
  • Setup SAP system into T-CDMP


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering area

Key Skills

  • Managerial position in high mixed - low volume PCBA & Box Build manufacturing environment with Engineering exposures. 
  • Possess knowledge of ISO 9001; ISO I4001, ISO 13485I, 4TF16949 & US FDA 21 CFR Part 820 with analytical abilities. 
  • Ability to lead and supervise Technical & non-technical teams. 
  • Able to use SWOT analysis on issues and personnel's 
  • Capable to sense financial objectives and achieve stated output / revenue 
  • Able to read Engineering drawing (Electronics & Mechanical)

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in leadership roles with increasing responsibilities, including management of Engineering and/or Product Development teams.
