Job Description

Responsibilities

We are partnering with an established hospitality organisation to identify an experienced Financial Controller to lead the full finance function.

This position will play a key leadership role in driving financial performance, ensuring compliance, strengthening internal controls, and partnering closely with operational stakeholders to support business growth and profitability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the annual budgeting and business planning process.
  • Prepare periodic financial forecasts and provide analytical support to management.
  • Analyse financial performance, market trends, and operational data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial reports, balance sheets, P&L statements, bank reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain complete accounting records in compliance with accounting standards and hospitality reporting requirements.
  • Establish and strengthen financial and operational controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Review financial performance against budget and forecast variances.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance finance operations and reporting efficiency.
  • Support taxation planning and reporting activities, including GST review and compliance.
  • Maintain and safeguard financial records, contracts, insurance policies, licences, and legal documentation.
  • Manage hotel expenses, cash flow, and working capital effectively.
  • Drive cost optimisation initiatives while maintaining operational effectiveness.
  • Monitor expenditure trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide commercial and financial guidance to support business decisions.
  • Present financial performance updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to drive performance and capability building.


Requirements:

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Prior experience leading the full finance function within a hotel environment would be highly preferred.
  • Possess strong knowledge of: USALI, SFRS/IFRS, GST and Singapore tax regulations.
  • Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, audit, compliance, and financial reporting processes.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, cash flow management, and business partnering.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
  • Familiarity with hotel finance systems and ERP platforms will be advantageous.
