Role Description

We are looking for a Product Development Engineering Intern to support the design, prototyping, and manufacturing of our microfluidic systems. This is a highly hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys building real hardware, solving practical engineering problems, and working across multiple disciplines in a startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve mechanical components, fixtures, and assemblies using CAD software
• Support development of jigs, tooling, and manufacturing aids
• Operate and maintain 3D printers and rapid prototyping equipment
• Build, assemble, and test prototype systems and devices
• Support manufacturing and QC activities for microfluidic components and assemblies
• Troubleshoot mechanical and system integration issues
• Create technical drawings, documentation, and assembly procedures

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields
• Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar
• Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping methods
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, or mechanical assembly
• Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
• Good communication and documentation skills

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with microfluidic operations and systems
• Experience with rapid prototyping tools such as 3D printers and laser cutters
• Experience in system integration and coding in python/C++ is a plus
