RoleDescription: Platform Design and Delivery Principal Advisor – S/4 CPE(Commodity Pricing Engine)

RolePurpose:
The Platform Design and Delivery Principal Advisor is responsible fordesigning, developing, and overseeing the implementation of comprehensive SAPsolutions that meet both business and technical requirements. This role worksclosely with the Platform Design and Delivery Lead to complete all activitiesrequired for the pillar. This role acts as a key link between workstream leads,business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams.

The role ensures alignment of functional needs withscalable and effective technical architectures, with specific accountabilityfor supporting SAP S/4HANA Commodity Pricing Engine (CPE) design and capabilities.The advisor contributes to creating and maintaining a robust architecturalframework, guiding teams from the conceptual stage through to successfuldelivery and implementation of CPE

Key Accountabilities:

Solution Design & Architecture
Develop and define comprehensive SAP-centric solution architectures thataddress both functional and non-functional requirements. Where applicable,incorporate CPE-based pricing capabilities including configurablepricing rules, formula-based pricing, and integration with external pricinginputs.

Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with business leaders, product owners, and technical teams tocapture requirements, including complex pricing scenarios, and translate theminto scalable SAP solutions.

Architectural Leadership
Lead the design of SAP-centric system architectures, ensuring integration ofpricing components (including CPE configuration objects such as rules, formulastructures, and pricing determination logic) aligned with enterprise standards.

Cross-functional Guidance
Provide technical leadership to development teams throughout the lifecycle ofthe project, ensuring solutions are designed and implemented according tospecifications, including support for advanced pricing logic andextensibility where required.

Technology Evaluation
Assess new technologies and design approaches related to pricing frameworks,ensuring suitability for current and future solutions, including evaluation of S/4HANACPE capabilities and enhancements.

Systems Integration
Design integration strategies for complex systems, ensuring smooth interactionbetween SAP modules, pricing components, APIs, and external data providers(e.g. market data or pricing sources where applicable).

Governance & Compliance
Ensure that all solutions adhere to organizational governance standards,security policies, and regulatory requirements, including proper control andauditability of pricing logic.

Documentation
Create and maintain high-quality documentation for solution architectures,including pricing frameworks, configuration design, and integration approaches.

Performance Optimization
Oversee system performance and scalability, including ensuring efficientexecution of pricing calculations and formula-based logic.

Mentorship
Guide and mentor junior architects, developers, and technical team members inarchitectural principles and best practices, including CPE design conceptsand configuration patterns where applicable.

Continuous Improvement
Keep abreast of SAP S/4HANA developments, including enhancements in pricingtechnologies, and apply them to improve the organization's solution landscape.

Agile Collaboration
Participate in agile ceremonies, providing technical input to ensurearchitectural integrity, including pricing-related design considerations.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in SAP S/4HANA solution architecture and delivery
• Strong experience with SAP Commodity Pricing Engine (CPE) configuration concepts
• Strong Experience Designing and Implementing of pricing solution with Key CPE concepts:
• Rule-based pricing
• Formula-driven pricing (both commodity index based and quality/assay based)
• Condition-based pricing enhancements
• CPE, CPF, use of BRF+
• Pricing rule configuration and determination logic
• Mark to Market and Period End Valuation of commodities
• Integration of external pricing or market data sources
• Enhancement techniques (e.g. BADIs) for pricing extensions
• Experience integrating SAP pricing capabilities with other SAP modules (e.g. SD and logistics processes)
• Well versed in SAP SD and Order to Cash processes and capabilities
• Strong understanding of SAP architecture, integration patterns, and extensibility
• Ability to translate complex business pricing requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Experience in large-scale SAP implementations and global delivery environments
• Experience in Mining and / or Oil and Gas is a strong nice-to-have
• Knowledge of IS-OIL and specially IS-OIL F&A Pricing is a strong nice-to-have (given we are transitioning from F&A to CPE)
