Job Summary:

The Laboratory Technician provides essential support to the Chemist team, primarily focusing on the collection and preparation of samples for refinery processes and maintaining wastewater treatment operations.

Key Responsibilities:

(1) Collection and preparation of samples:

• Collect and verify incoming samples.
• Register and maintain sample records in the laboratory management system.
• Perform sample preparation procedures, including wet digestion, filtration, and related laboratory techniques.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of samples and chemical reagents. o Maintain laboratory housekeeping.
• Collaborate effectively with chemists, operations, and environmental teams.

(2) Wastewater Treatment Plant Monitoring

• Conduct routine monitoring and sampling of wastewater treatment plant performance.
• Record and report operational parameters, test results, and abnormalities.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Support troubleshooting and optimization activities for wastewater treatment processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related scientific field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in an industrial, chemical, or wastewater treatment environment (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
• Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform tasks independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
