Job Description

Responsibilities

1) Food Preparation

  • Assist in the food preparation according to the standardized recipes and guidelines

(SOP).

  • Ensure all mise en place is prepared and completed for your assigned station under the guidance of the Commis 1 / Chef de Partie.
  • Ensure the quality, freshness and consistency of the food.

2) Cooking Support

  • Assist for cooking of menu items under the supervision of Senior Kitchen Team (Cook 1 & CDP)
  • Follow standard recipe and standard operating procedures for cooking process and plating standard.

3) Stock Arrangement & Inventory

  • Assist in organizing and arrange stock and ingredients based on FIFO (First-In-First Out) under the supervision of Senior Kitchen Team (Cook 1 & CDP)
  • Follow proper food handling procedures, including proper storage and labeling.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring quality and accuracy.

4) Hygiene and Cleanliness

  • Maintain high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and organization of the kitchen, workstations and storage area.
  • Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment thoroughly and efficiently.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and hygiene regulations at all times.
  • Follow thru the arrangement for housekeeping, sanitation and cleaning schedule for each section and the standard procedures.
  • Assist in opening and closing duties, including cleaning and restocking
  • Take out trash and follow proper waste disposal procedures.

5) Health and Safety Standard

  • Follow all safety guidelines, include proper handling of equipment and adherence to hygiene standard.
  • Uphold food safety and sanitation standards as per local authority food safety regulations.
  • Follow food safety guidelines for handling & cooking

6) Communication and Team Work

  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with all kitchen and service team to ensure smooth kitchen operation
  • Support the team during busy service periods with flexibility and a can-do attitude.
  • Take direction well and be proactive in anticipating the needs of the team.

Requirements:

  • Passion for cooking and eagerness to grow in the culinary field.
  • Understanding of cooking techniques, a plus for Commis 2
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and follow instruction precisely.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with the team members.
  • Team-oriented with willingness to learn and improve.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
  • Be punctual, dependable, and demonstrate a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, closing shift, weekends and holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Internship, Fresh graduate

Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
