Position Summary
The Field Application Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, and application solutions for automation equipment. The role requires close collaboration with the project team and customers to ensure successful project delivery and equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation, debugging, testing, and commissioning of automation equipment.
- Provide technical support to customers, including troubleshooting, system setup, and equipment optimization.
- Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and project-related documentation.
- Operate and configure PLC, upper-level control software, vision software, and related automation systems.
- Assist the project team in preparing technical reports, documentation, and customer feedback summaries.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure project milestones and delivery schedules are met.
- Communicate with customers professionally to understand their needs and resolve issues effectively.
- Perform equipment maintenance, calibration, and corrective actions as required.
- Support business travel for on-site project execution (local and overseas when required).
- Ensure compliance with company safety guidelines and maintain a high standard of work quality.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related fields.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; training will be provided.
- Familiar with PLC basics and able to read electrical wiring diagrams.
- Able to perform basic electrical wiring and understand electrical schematic diagrams.
- Familiar with common automation components such as motors, cylinders, sensors, etc.
- Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Able to perform machine debugging independently.
- Experience with upper-level control software and vision software is an added advantage.
- Hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, automation systems, or on-site troubleshooting is advantageous.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility, self-discipline, and teamwork.
- Positive working attitude, willing to learn, and adaptable to fast-paced environments.
- Able to follow instructions, cooperate with project delivery, and maintain professionalism with clients.
- Willing to travel for on-site support (overseas).
- Able to work overtime when required.
- Physically fit and willing to handle hands-on technical tasks.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
