Job Description

Responsibilities

Project Engineer (Construction Operations) 1. Project Planning & Coordination

  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and execution of construction activities.
  • Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure smooth project operations.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract requirements before commencement of works.
  • Prepare work schedules, manpower planning, and material coordination to support site progress.

2. Site Supervision & Execution

  • Supervise daily site activities and monitor work progress according to project timeline.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors’ work performance, attendance, and productivity on site.
  • Identify site issues and provide timely technical or operational solutions to avoid delays.

3. Quality Control & Safety Compliance

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations and company safety policies.
  • Work closely with Safety Officers and site supervisors to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safety practices are maintained at all times.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including daily reports, progress reports, site records, and material submissions.
  • Assist in preparation of method statements, risk assessments, inspection requests, and work permits.
  • Track project progress and report any delays, variations, or issues to management.
  • Attend site meetings and prepare meeting updates or coordination reports when required.

5. Resource & Cost Management

  • Monitor usage of manpower, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient project operations.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and ensure sufficient resources are available for site activities.
  • Assist in monitoring project costs, variation works, and site operational expenses.
  • Support project managers in achieving project targets within approved budget and timeline.

6. Testing, Commissioning & Handover

  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning activities with relevant parties.
  • Rectify defects and ensure completion of outstanding works before project handover.
  • Assist in final project documentation and handover process to client or main contractor.

Qualification Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Relevant experience in construction site coordination and project management preferred.
  • Able to read construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of WSH regulations and site safety practices.
  • Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project documentation.
  • Able to work independently and meet project deadlines.
