Cloud Engineer responsible for managingvirtualization and hyperconverged infrastructure platforms, specifically VMwareand Nutanix. The objective is to ensure high availability, scalability,performance, and security of the virtual infrastructure supporting businessapplications.

Responsibities:

• Manage VMware and Nutanix environments end-to-end
• Ensure performance, availability, and security compliance
• Provide proactive recommendations and continuous improvements
• Maintain a resilient and highly available virtual infrastructure
• Optimise performance and resource utilisation across clusters
• Ensure secure and compliant virtual environments
• Support automation, scalability, and cloud-like operations
• Deliver efficient provisioning and lifecycle management
• Deploy, configure, and manage VMware environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)
• Manage clusters, resource pools, and virtual machines (VMs)
• Configure and maintain HA, DRS, and vMotion
• Perform lifecycle management (patching, upgrades, firmware coordination)
• Manage templates, snapshots, and VM provisioning
• Deploy and maintain Nutanix AOS and AHV environments
• Manage clusters using Nutanix Prism (Element/Central)
• Provision and manage virtual machines and storage containers
• Configure and maintain HA, live migration, and storage policies
• Perform cluster expansion, upgrades, and health monitoring
• Integrate VMware and Nutanix environments with backup solutions
• Manage VM-level backups and replication
• Perform restore operations (file-level, VM-level, full recovery)
• Conduct periodic recovery and DR testing
• Provide  support for virtualization-related issues
• Troubleshoot VM, host, and cluster issues
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents
• Collaborate with network, storage, and system teams

Qualifications:

• Possess fundamental knowledge of security and vulnerability-based approach to security hardening.
• Hands-on experience in VMware, Windows Server and standard platform Monitoring
• Candidates will need to coordinate and work closely with other parts of IT and the business to implement recommendations as needed.
• Administer, monitor, and maintain security infrastructure (Patch, Upgrade, and Monitor for issues).
• Significant understanding and ability to work with Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Awareness of cybersecurity trends, issues, and hacking techniques.
• VMware: vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, SRM, vSAN
• Nutanix: AOS, AHV, Prism, Leap, Calm
• Automation: PowerCLI, Ansible,
• Backup: Commvault

Must have relevant experience in Security or security related fields.
