As a Workato Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and secure integrations across cloud and on-premise systems using the Workato platform. This includes developing interfaces that enable seamless data exchange, automation of workflows, and orchestration of business processes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Workato's integration platform and stay current with emerging capabilities, particularly in AI-powered automation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop integration recipes connecting cloud applications, databases, and on-premise systems using Workato's iPaaS platform
• Build and maintain data synchronization workflows ensuring accurate, real-time data flow between business systems
• Implement Workato AI agents and conversational automation to enhance business processes and employee productivity
• Create custom connectors and API integrations for proprietary or less common systems
• Develop reusable recipe functions and callable recipes to maintain scalability and code efficiency
• Optimize recipe performance, handle error scenarios, and implement retry logic for mission-critical integrations
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical automation solutions
• Document integration architectures, data mappings, and process flows
• Monitor integration health, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive alerting
• Stay current with Workato platform updates and emerging AI automation capabilities

PROFILE

• Minimum Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, IT or any relevant specialisation.
• Proven 4-7 years of hands-on experience with Workato platform development.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, webhooks, and authentication protocols (OAuth, API keys, JWT)
• Proficiency in Workato recipe development including triggers, actions, conditional logic, and data transformations
• Experience with Workato Workbot and conversational automation interfaces
• Knowledge of Workato AI agents, including configuration, training, and integration with business workflows
• Understanding of data integration patterns: real-time sync, batch processing, event-driven architecture
• Experience integrating common SaaS platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, NetSuite, Slack, or similar
• Solid grasp of data formats including JSON, XML, and CSV
• Ability to write and debug formula mode expressions in Workato' s Ruby-based syntax
• Workato certification (Professional Automation or AI Automation)
• Experience with Workato' s connector SDK for building custom adapters
• Familiarity with RPA tools and how they complement iPaaS solutions
• Background in software development with languages like Python, JavaScript, or Ruby
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts and prompt engineering for agent-based automation
• Experience with API management and governance practices
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture patterns and middleware concepts
