Your impact
The
Senior Telecom Engineer- Data Center acts as the Telecommunications Discipline Lead for mission‑critical data center projects, accountable for the design, coordination, and delivery of ICT and low-voltage systems. The role requires independent leadership, technical authority, and responsibility for team performance, client engagement, and project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Technical and Team Leadership
- Lead the design of telecommunications and ICT systems including structured cabling, fibre infrastructure, networks, security systems, AV, and related low-voltage systems
- Establish discipline-specific design strategies, standards, and technical solutions aligned with client and operational requirements
- Review and approve telecom design deliverables, specifications, and calculations
- Act as the subject-matter expert for telecom systems across multiple projects
- Lead and supervise telecom engineers and designers across one or more projects
- Assign work, review outputs, and ensure consistency, quality, and compliance
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical capability building within the discipline
- Support recruitment, performance evaluation, and succession planning as required
Project Delivery & Commercial Responsibility
- Accountable for telecom discipline scope, program, quality, and budget
- Serve as the primary telecom interface with clients, operators, vendors, and authorities.
- Lead technical workshops, design reviews, and value-engineering discussions.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors and specialists to ensure compliant and optimized solutions
- Coordinate with project managers on resourcing, scheduling, and cost control.
- Identify and mitigate technical, interface, and construction risks
- Support proposals, fee estimates, and technical inputs during bids and pursuits
Construction and Commissioning Support
- Oversee telecom-related construction support including shop drawing reviews, RFIs, site inspections, and commissioning activities
- Ensure designs are implemented in accordance with approved documents and performance requirements
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer / Licensed Engineer (where applicable)
- Preferably 10+ years of experience designing ICT and low-voltage systems, with strong exposure to mission-critical or data center facilities
- Solid knowledge of BICSI, TIA/EIA, NFPA, and relevant international and local codes
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM-based workflows
Desired Experience & Skills
- Experience as Telecom / ICT Discipline Lead on large data center projects
- Professional certifications such as BICSI RCDD or equivalent
- Strong client-facing, coordination, and leadership capabilities
- Experience working in regional or global delivery models
