Responsibilities

We are partnering with a well-established, reputable Data Center group to appoint a Talent Acquisition Lead for their growing Malaysia operations. This is a high-impact leadership role for a hands-on TA professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and excels at building scalable recruitment capabilities. This role will be based in Kuala Lumpur.


About the Opportunity

Our client is scaling its presence in Malaysia and requires a strategic yet execution-focused leader to build and optimise talent acquisition for large-scale project delivery. Reporting into the HR Director, you will play a pivotal role in supporting ambitious business growth through high-volume hiring while professionalising TA processes in a relatively agile setup.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end talent acquisition strategy and operations for Malaysia, with a strong focus on volume hiring (technical, site, and project roles across multiple ongoing and upcoming projects).
  • Build, lead, and develop a team of 5 direct reports.
  • Design and implement efficient recruitment processes, systems, and tools suitable for the construction industry.
  • Partner closely with business leaders, project directors, and HR to forecast headcount needs and deliver timely, high-quality talent.
  • Navigate and thrive in ambiguity – improve and professionalise existing practices where processes are still maturing.
  • Drive employer branding initiatives tailored to the Malaysian market to attract top construction talent.
  • Manage recruitment budgets, vendor relationships, and performance metrics (time-to-hire, quality of hire, cost per hire, etc.).


Ideal Profile

  • Proven experience as a Talent Acquisition leader or Head of TA/Recruitment
  • Strong track record of managing high-volume recruitment (hundreds of hires annually) in project-based or blue-collar/technical environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing a recruitment team.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments and build structure without bureaucracy.
  • Deep understanding of the Malaysian talent market, employment regulations, and sourcing channels (job portals, networks, agencies, etc.).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset combined with strong hands-on execution.
