Job Description

Responsibilities

GGCC generates revenue across a diverse portfolio — golf, memberships, events, facilities, advertising, and sponsorships. The Sales Executive is the person on the ground turning those assets into signed deals. You will identify opportunities, build relationships with corporate clients and brand partners, develop commercial proposals, and close revenue. You will also work closely with the Sales & Marketing Manager on new product development — helping shape ideas into offerings that can generate revenues.

This is a commercial role first. You need to be driven, persistent, and comfortable initiating conversations with decision-makers.

Business Development & Sales

  • Proactively identify and approach prospects for GGCC's commercial revenue streams — advertising spaces, sponsorships, event booth rentals, naming rights, and any other ancillary income opportunities.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of corporate clients and brand partners; track leads, follow-ups, and deal status consistently.
  • Prepare compelling sales proposals, sponsorship packages, and advertising rate cards tailored to each prospect's objectives.
  • Present proposals confidently to clients and negotiate terms through to closure.
  • Meet and contribute to revenue targets set by the Sales & Marketing Manager.
  • Identify new commercial use cases for GGCC's existing assets — facilities, tournaments, digital platforms, and audience reach — and bring them forward as revenue proposals.

Product Development Support

  • Assist the Sales & Marketing Manager in developing new commercial products and packages — translating ideas into structured offerings with clear pricing, value propositions, and target clients.
  • Gather client feedback and market input to inform product improvements and new offering development.
  • Support the preparation of internal approval papers for new revenue initiatives.
  • Conduct pricing benchmarks against competitor clubs and industry norms to ensure GGCC's offerings remain competitive.

Client & Partnership Management

  • Manage active commercial accounts — ensuring agreed deliverables (sponsor placements, signage, digital mentions, booth setups) are executed accurately and on time.
  • Build long-term relationships with clients and partners, with a focus on retention and upselling where appropriate.
  • Prepare post-event and post-campaign summary reports for commercial partners demonstrating value and ROI.
  • Represent GGCC professionally at networking events, industry functions, and client meetings.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor competitor clubs and the broader sponsorship and events industry in Malaysia for pricing shifts, new partnership models, and emerging opportunities.
  • Compile periodic market intelligence summaries to support the Sales & Marketing Manager's commercial strategy and planning.

Planning & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date pipeline records — leads, proposals submitted, negotiation status, and closed deals.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales activity reports for the Sales & Marketing Manager.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing annual commercial revenue targets and activity plans.

Event & Tournament Support

  • Attend GGCC tournaments and commercial events to support sponsor management, client hosting, and business development networking.
  • Photograph tournaments and key club events when required.
  • Coordinate on-ground sponsor activations and ensure commercial obligations are fulfilled during events.

General

  • Assist the Sales & Marketing Manager on any other tasks, projects, or assignments as required.
  • Support asset and inventory management including preparation of MRFs and purchase documentation where needed.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications

  • At least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent.

Must-Haves

  • 1–2 years of experience in a sales, business development, or commercial marketing role.
  • Proven ability to prospect, pitch, and close commercial deals — not just support them.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present confidently to corporate decision-makers.
  • Comfortable preparing proposals, rate cards, and commercial documentation independently.
  • Self-motivated and target-oriented — able to manage a pipeline with minimal supervision.
  • Good organisational skills and follow-through; leads don't fall through the cracks.
  • Able to work on weekends.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the sports, hospitality, events, media, or lifestyle industry.
  • Existing network of corporate contacts relevant to sponsorship and brand partnerships.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools or sales pipeline trackers.
  • Interest in golf or sports is a plus.
  • Multi-lingual proficiency is an advantage.
