Job Summary
Manage tendering, contract administration, cost control, and subcontractor relations for M&E or Fire Protection projects, ensuring accurate final accounts and compliance with local standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, source subcontractor quotes, and develop comprehensive cost estimates and tender submissions to support project bidding
- Administer construction contracts using local standard forms to ensure compliance and effective contract management
- Evaluate, negotiate, and track progress claims and Variation Orders (VOs) to maintain accurate cost control and prepare monthly cost evaluation reports
- Assess completed site works, certify progress payments, and resolve disputes or contractual claims with subcontractors to maintain project progress
- Compile and organize all necessary documentation to accurately and timely close project final accounts
- Apply practical knowledge of fire protection components such as fire pumps, sprinkler networks, hydrant systems, clean agent gas systems, FM200, and fire alarm systems in project evaluations and contract administration
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building, Quantity Surveying, or related field
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of local Quantity Surveying experience with exposure to M&E or Fire Protection systems in Singapore
- Familiarity with the Singapore Fire Code and relevant Singapore Standards (e.g., SS CP 52, SS 645)
