The Senior Project Officer (Program Management and Reporting) will provide short-term support to the Australia–Malaysia Reform Partnership (AMRP) during its final phase of implementation. The role will support program coordination, donor reporting, stakeholder engagement, and implementation follow-through across multiple workstreams.
Success in this position will involve ensuring timely coordination of activities, maintaining high-quality reporting and documentation, supporting effective stakeholder engagement, and contributing to smooth project closure and transition processes. The position plays an important role in strengthening delivery and supporting AMRP’s broader objective of advancing evidence-based policy reform and institutional collaboration in Malaysia.
Responsibilities
- Support overall program coordination and implementation across AMRP workstreams and activities.
- Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, meetings, and follow-up actions to ensure implementation progress.
- Draft, review, and coordinate high-quality reports, briefing notes, donor updates, and knowledge products.
- Support preparation of donor reporting requirements and project closure documentation.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, including meetings, workshops, consultations, and follow-up communications.
- Liaise with internal teams, consultants, and external partners to support implementation and information flow.
- Maintain organized project records, tracking systems, and documentation.
- Support administrative and operational tasks related to project delivery as required.
- Contribute to emerging priorities and additional assignments related to policy reform and program implementation.
Qualifications
Education
Master's degree in Public Policy, International Development, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Political Science, Economics, Communications, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in program management, project coordination, policy work, donor-funded programs, or international development.
- Experience supporting multi-stakeholder initiatives and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Experience in drafting reports, concept notes, briefing materials, or donor-facing products.
- Familiarity with policy reform, governance, development programming, or stakeholder engagement processes is an advantage.
- Familiarity with the care economy, creative economy, and blue economy is an advantage
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong report writing, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently under tight timelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Familiarity with the Malaysian public sector or development landscape.
- Prior experience working with donor-funded programs or international organizations is an advantage.
