About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and technically competent Project Engineer to support ongoing metro power supply system projects in Singapore.
This role covers engineering design, procurement, and construction coordination of power supply and distribution systems, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
The position offers exposure to major rail infrastructure projects and collaboration with international and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering & Technical Support
- Assist in the review and coordination of electrical power supply system designs in compliance with local regulations and project standards
- Prepare and submit technical documents including drawings, method statements, material submissions, and calculations
- Support engineering works related to substations, transformers, switchgear, rectifiers, HV/LV cables, SCADA, and earthing systems
- Work closely with consultants and clients to address technical comments and ensure timely approvals
- Assist in resolving technical and site-related issues during construction
2. Site Installation & Supervision
- Supervise on-site HV electrical installation works for railway projects
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety requirements
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure smooth progress
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and WSH compliance
3. Project Monitoring & Coordination
- Monitor site progress and track against project schedules
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports
- Identify potential delays or technical challenges and escalate where necessary
- Attend site meetings and coordinate with civil and system-wide contractors to ensure proper interface management
4. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Support testing, energisation, and commissioning activities
- Coordinate trial operations and system power-on procedures
- Assist in preparation of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation
- Ensure systems meet required performance and safety standards before handover
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in metro, railway, LTA, or large scale electrical infrastructure projects (required)
- Good understanding of power distribution and/or traction power systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Experience in design coordination or interface management is an advantage
- AutoCAD knowledge is beneficial but not mandatory
- Good communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- Independent, responsible, and able to work in a fast paced project environment
- Singaporean / WP / EP candidates are welcome
