Design & Production Engineer (Junior and Senior) for Steel and Telco Towers Fabrication at *************

About the Role

************* is looking for a Design & Production Engineers to join our steel and telco tower fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating client specifications into detailed AutoCAD/SolidWorks/similar, for steel and tower designs and coordinating closely with our factory team to ensure smooth and timely production.

You’ll play a key role in bridging the gap between client requirements, design engineering, and on-ground fabrication.

Join our growing fabrication team as we expand into more telco infrastructure, custom steel structures, and on-site deployment projects. We’re looking for both Senior and Junior Engineers who are hands-on, technically sharp, and able to coordinate between clients, design, factory, and site teams.

Available Position

• Junior Design & Production Engineer
• 1–3 years experience
• Able to assist in preparing AutoCAD drawings and production files
• Will support site visits, measurements, and follow-up with production
• Ideal for candidates with strong technical foundation eager to learn end-to-end delivery

Key Responsibilities (Both Roles)

Design & Drafting:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of our products, manufacturing processes, and quality standards
• Develop and prepare detailed fabrication/shop drawings using AutoCAD (2D/3D)/SolidWorks/similar
• Design steel structures: telco towers, platforms, poles, gantries, trusses, solar frame, carport, etc
• Generate cutting lists, BOMs, and coordinate with QC for production
• Verify tolerances, welding symbols, bolt patterns, and connection details
• Ensure compliance with standards (TIA-222, BS, MS, JKR, etc.)
• Ensure quality and design meets structural integrity and safety standards
• Liaise with QA/QC team and conduct inspections if needed
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitors' products

Factory Coordination:

• Translate approved designs into cutting lists and BOMs
• Supervise or assist factory supervisors during fabrication and work closely with production team
• Monitor material usage, quality, and progress against production schedules
• Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment
• Maintain accurate records of sales transactions, order statuses, and customer communications
• Solve design-to-fabrication issues and track progress

Client & Site Implementation:

• Collaborate with the sales team to identify potential customers and market opportunities
• Provide technical expertise and product knowledge to customers during the sales process
• Attend meetings and engage clients to interpret project requirements
• Conduct site visits for measurements or tower erection guidance
• Advise clients on feasible design options and fabrication capabilities
• Prepare concept designs and present to clients for production
• Provide technical support during installation or structural inspection
• Attend on-site implementation if needed
• Address and resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally
• Gather feedback from customers to understand their needs and preferences and relay this information to the relevant departments
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers

Qualifications:

• Diploma/Degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D) – essential
• Knowledge of fabrication processes and structural standards (TIA-222, MS, BS, JKR)
• Strong understanding of telecom towers and steel structural design principles
• Willingness to learn, travel to site, and support fabrication processes
• Good overall physical health and stamina to handle physically demanding tasks (no serious injury or medical history).

For Junior Role:

• 1–3 years relevant experience or fresh graduates with strong AutoCAD skills

Key Skills:

Technical:

• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D/3D) – essential
• Able to read and prepare fabrication drawings
• Familiar with steel and tower loading, bracing, gusset plate design, etc.
• Optional: Tekla, SolidWorks, or STAAD.Pro

Client & Communication:

• Able to take verbal/written instructions from clients and convert them into designs
• Good at presenting and defending design choices
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English (spoken & written)
• Proficiency in office related software (Words, Excel, Power Point)

Production Know-How:

• Understanding of fabrication processes: cutting, welding, fitting, assembly
• Moderate knowledge and skills in handling welding, laser cutting and bending machines
• Ability to guide or coordinate with production workers

Bonus Attributes:

• Familiarity with Tekla / STAAD / SolidWorks
• Familiar with tower site deployment and erection
• Experience with telco projects (e.g., TM, edotco, CelcomDigi)
• Able to communicate well in Bahasa Malaysia and English
• Possess own transport and willing to travel to project sites when required
• CIDB Green card
• Any proven welding certificates
• Any related certificates and accreditation

Note:

• Factory operation will be relocated to Sepang in 2026, so looking for candidate who can fulfill such arrangement as well.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
