As a member of the Freight Forwarding team Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimising processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. As an HES Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing workplace safety incidents, ensuring proper documentation, and coordinating with relevant authorities. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe work environment through training and proactive safety measures.
How you create impact
Claims Management:
- Review and investigate workplace accidents and incidents to assess claim eligibility while gathering essential documentation such as incident reports, witness statements, and medical records. Coordinate with insurance providers, legal teams, and relevant stakeholders, and track claim progress to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
Incident/Accident Tracking:
- Maintain and regularly update the incident/accident master list while classifying incidents based on severity, type, and impact. Analyze incident trends to identify recurring issues, propose preventive measures, and prepare monthly and quarterly summary reports for management review.
Driver Communication:
- Immediately contact drivers involved in accidents or incidents to collect firsthand information and provide guidance on next steps, including document submission and safety protocols. Maintain regular follow-ups until cases are fully resolved and document all communications for accurate record-keeping.
Authority Coordination:
- Liaise with police departments, traffic authorities, and relevant government bodies following incidents, including requesting and tracking police reports, investigation outcomes, and final decision letters. Ensure all legal documents are properly received, filed, and referenced, while clearly communicating authority decisions and legal implications to internal teams.
Incident Reporting:
- Draft comprehensive incident reports outlining event timelines, contributing factors, and corrective actions while collaborating with witnesses and involved personnel to gather accurate statements. Recommend safety improvements and procedural changes based on analysis, and present findings to management and relevant safety committees.
Safety Training & Awareness:
- Conduct onboarding safety training for new drivers and warehouse staff, while organizing regular refresher sessions, toolbox talks, and emergency drills. Develop training materials such as manuals, presentations, and quizzes, and stay updated on industry best practices and safety regulations to continuously improve training effectiveness.
General Safety Oversight:
- Perform routine safety audits and workplace inspections while monitoring compliance with safety policies and recommending corrective actions when necessary. Participate in safety meetings to support HSE policy development and promote a safety-first culture by encouraging proactive hazard reporting and feedback.
