Database Engineer

The Role:

This position is for a core member of the global database team, responsible for the support, administration, and security of critical database systems. You will gain exposure to a wide range of database projects, including high availability, capacity planning, data warehousing, and database design, working closely with various business units to deliver robust data solutions.

What You Will Do:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to analyze and resolve data flow and content challenges.
  • Translate business requirements into effective and reliable database architectures and solutions.
  • Design and implement cutting-edge database systems to maintain a competitive technological advantage.
  • Administer, monitor, and tune production databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation for database management and deployment tasks.
Your Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of hands-on production database administration experience.
  • Essential expertise in at least two of the following core technologies: Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
  • Experience administering at least two of the following in a production setting: PostgreSQL, SQL-Server, or NoSQL databases.
  • Solid understanding of database monitoring, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and security permission management.
  • Proficiency in one or more database programming languages (e.g., SQL, T-SQL, PL/pgSQL) and related BI services (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell, Shell script, or Python are highly advantageous.
  • Experience with cloud database administration is a significant plus.
  • A proactive, organized approach with excellent time management and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
