What The Role Is
You will be part of MDDI’s Communications and Engagement Division that strategises, develops and drives communications and outreach plans for key areas of the Ministry’s work to engage hearts and minds for a thriving digital future.
What You Will Be Working On
You will work with internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute robust media comms plans to forward MDDI’s comms agenda of building a vibrant and secure digital future for Singapore.
This is an exciting role as your work will directly influence public understanding and support for policies that aim to build Singapore into a safer, more inclusive and thriving digital society. You will be the bridge between complex policies and public understanding.
The key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing high-impact media communications strategies and plans, including:
- Shaping narratives and key messages to engage a wide range of stakeholders;
- Drafting media materials, managing media requests and interviews, staffing of media events, coordinating issues and crisis comms; and
- Evaluating media outcomes to ensure effectiveness of media plan.
- Cultivating robust relationships with media outlets and stakeholders to ensure coordinated and powerful messaging, and create greater awareness and impact for MDDI’s policies and initiatives.
What We Are Looking For
- Excellent grasp of issues, policies, and current affairs
- Keen awareness of political sensitivities
- Strong analytical ability and project management skills
- Good editing, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to explain policies and technical topics in a clear and simple way for the general public
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and work independently or as part of a team
- Candidates with work experience in media relations have an added advantage. Fresh graduates with relevant educational background (e.g. in communications) are welcome to apply too.
