The Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) in supervising and managing construction works on site to ensure full compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and applicable standards. The role requires extensive site experience and the ability to independently oversee construction activities and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all civil and structural works are carried out in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and project schedules.
- Monitor and inspect piling works including bored piles, spun piles, RC piles, micropiles, and diaphragm wall construction.
- Supervise basement construction and long span structural works to ensure quality and compliance with engineering standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and relevant authorities on site matters and technical issues.
- Review contractor submissions, method statements, shop drawings, and inspection requests.
- Conduct site inspections, testing, and quality control checks for structural and infrastructure works.
- Monitor water supply and sewerage reticulation works for large-scale developments.
- Prepare site reports, progress updates, and technical documentation.
- Assist in resolving site technical issues and ensure timely completion of works.
- Support R&D-related construction or engineering implementation works where required.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification recognized by relevant authorities.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in construction supervision and infrastructure projects.
- Experience in handling large infrastructure project(s) is mandatory.

- Familiar with local authority requirements, construction standards, and engineering practices.
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.
- Registered with BEM would be an added advantage.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
